HyperVibe whole body vibration

What to look for in a vibration machine and what to avoid.

Speed displayed in Hz, not speed levels
SpeedWhat do you intend to use your vibration machine for? Improving your balance and stability? Rehabilitation of an injury? Improving blood circulation? Sports training? Or perhaps just to tone up? Clinical research has shown that to achieve specific results on a vibration machine, the speed of the platform should be at a specific frequency (Hz). For example, research suggests that lower speeds of around 6-8Hz are best suited for balance and stability, whilst higher frequencies are better suited for toning. Therefore, in order to achieve your intended goals, it is vital that you know the frequency of the machine you are using.
Many machines being sold today do not have the function to give you this essential information, instead, they give you a range of speed levels that have nothing to do with the frequency of the platform. For example, a machine might show 1-15 speed levels or 1-60 speed levels etc. Imagine if you bought a car, and instead of a speedometer that read from 0 to 120mph, it read 1-50 speed. Now imagine using this to try and keep to the speed limit as you drive down a road, or as you try to slow to a suggested speed to approach a corner. A car has a speedometer given in mph for a reason, this is how we measure how fast a car travels! Just as we measure temperature in degrees, body weight in kilograms, running tracks in metres, and the volume of liquid in litres, we measure vibration speed in frequency (Hz), simple!
Safe and effective speed frequency
SafetyA pivotal vibration platform gives the safest and best results when used in a frequency range of 1-30Hz. Speeds over 30Hz on a pivotal vibration platform are not recommended and could result in an injury. The optimal frequency for muscle toning, is around 25Hz, but can vary depending on the individual, so make sure your machine can at least reach this speed.
Always ensure your machine gives an accurate frequency reading, it is common to find huge errors in what other machines display and their actual speeds. Our machines have been calibrated to give you an accurate Hz indication with marginal room for error, even whilst under heavy loading.
The Hypervibe Performance, is a full range machine (displayed in Hz), and is fully adjustable from 6-28Hz.
Targeted, safe programs, that work
TargetWe have explained how training at specific frequencies achieve specific results, so when you use a program, it’s likely that you still want to target specific results. Too often we see machines that treat vibration programs like programs you might find on a cardio machine like a running machine, where the speed goes up and down to raise or lower your heart rate or in an increasing fashion like a hill program. Programs on vibration platforms should not be modeled on programs on cardio machines, they are to completely different things. Nobody wants a program that starts at a speed best suited for balance, increases to a speed best suited for massage, then, increases to a speed best suited for training. Does an elderly person who wants to improve his or her balance, want to use a program that begins at speeds best suited for balance, then increases to a speed best suited for athletic training? Does a person with circulation problems want to use a program that targets circulation one minute then targets intense muscle toning the next?
Obviously not, a program should be designed to target your intended goals, rather than fluctuate with random speeds. It should run at a specific speed, and allow you to safely perform a set of postures, for a pre selected time you are comfortable with. The Hypervibe Performance allows you to select a safe, tailored program to suit your needs, whilst set on a specific frequency best suited to achieve your intended goals.
The HyperVibe Performance has 4 specific programs.
BalanceThis program is set at 6Hz and is aimed to give you improved balance and stability.
RecoveryThis program is set at 11Hz and is aimed to give you increased blood flow and circulation, recovery, and relaxation.
TrainThis program is set at 19Hz and is aimed to give you optimum vibration training effects, and proves to be a great combination with conventional weight training.
ToneThis program is set at 26Hz and is aimed to give you a maximum workout, with maximum muscle contractions. Training can also be performed in this program.
Instructions designed by health professionals
Health ProfessionalVibration training can not only be ineffective if not performed correctly, but can also be detrimental to your health and could result in permanent injury. Through our exercise guide, we recommend you use vibration training three to four times a week maximum, and your time on the machine should not exceed ten minutes per session. Spending more time than this on a vibration platform, will fatigue your body, and could cause numerous health problems. Just as it is important to not overuse the machine, it is equally important to exercise in correct postures. Many guides included with other vibration machines are too extreme or suggest postures which are unbalanced, and could cause serious injury.
Training on a our vibration machine can be performed with either static postures or dynamic exercises. Static postures are where you place yourself into the required position, and hold the position without any motion for the selected period. Dynamic exercises involve a range of motion during the selected period, for example the squat exercise where you push up and down with your legs. Whilst dynamic exercises can have their value, through our vibration guide, we do not recommend they be performed unsupervised. Hypervibe provides a range of static postures through our DVD and exercise guide, which have been designed and instructed by qualified health professionals. If you follow our guides to our exact instructions, you are far more likely to achieve results faster, and far less likely to injure yourself.
Additional vibration training postures and exercises can be performed on our machine, however, we strongly recommend you consult a professional for advice or supervision.
Fat sensors that make no sense
Fat SensorsThere are many machines on the market which have either built in heart rate monitors or fat testers. These features are useless and usually inaccurate anyway. A vibration platform is not designed primarily for losing fat, and it is certainly not a cardiovascular machine, so you won’t be needing that heart rate monitor. Be wary of machines with such features, they are often added to the machine to make up for a lack of other features which are important in a vibration machine.
